The World Boxing Council, in partnership with JessZilla and Cure Childhood Cancer, presented a special gray belt “ Gray in May “ as a tribute to honor Brain Cancer Awareness month during a super bantamweight match between Naoya Inoue vs. Ramon Cardenas in Las Vegas. As part of the campaign, Naoya Inoue and Ramon Cardenas were appointed as a WBC Cares Ambassadors for Brain Cancer Awareness, helping to amplify the message globally.
The WBC flew Pedro to Bangkok and honored his mission to continue raising awareness in Jesselyn’s name. He won the WBC’s ‘Bravest Man on Earth’ Award.
In Bangkok, Pedro began shaping an ATHENTOR x WBC boxing club in Thailand, dedicated to honoring Jesselyn and continuing her legacy of courage and heart by helping kids who need hope the most.
We partnered with CURE Childhood Cancer and the World Boxing Council to created a named fund in Jesselyn’s honor. The fund raised over $50,000 which supported two crucial DIPG/DMG research projects
One team identified a specific enzyme, PHGDH, that these tumors rely on to fuel their growth. The breakthrough is a new drug that successfully blocked this enzyme so that tumors shrank, and treated mice lived significantly longer. This is the first strong evidence that shutting down PHGDH could be an effective new strategy against these tumors. The drug looks promising!

Mainstream Distribution through Monkey Wrench Films, who facilitated both VOD & AVOD availability on 15+ platforms and accessible to over 10 countries.
Educational Distribution through Film Festivals. Played at schools all across the country (some for an additional screening fee).
Children from across the country who saw our film wrote letters to Jesselyn as part of this program, and thanked her for inspiring them.
